What do you actually do when the receptionist or a maid requests you to wait prior to your appointment ? What do you think after receiving numerous calls from the person saying" dear just 2 min i'll be there"? I have seen many getting pissed off in such situations. They often leave the place after a coffee or two. The stern visage of some is indicative of the outrage that is likely to happen when the two party's meet the next time.. :P
Be it any gender, postponement does create nuisance. Its natural to start putting blames on the other for spoiling the mood or being so irresponsible. The person waiting either abuses the responsible fellow if possible or start making impulsive wrong opinions about the other.
Roshni was enjoying the pitter-patter raindrops while waiting for her mother after school hours.'How long will you wait dear?' i asked but this innocent girl spreading her tender arms feeling the rain, replied back 'Dunno, but till then i will enjoy playing'.This was expressed with the MILLION DOLLAR smile. She was completely naive to this act of waiting which most of the public considers to be a waste of time. This friend of mine took me close to my memories.
I remember the day I had told my friend that I hate waiting alone. But after getting accustomed to the deed I found a similar way of overcoming it. I had been asked to wait at the reception numerous times while probing sponsors for the college fest, last year. At one place the mirrors arranged in the reception area caught hold of my attention towards appearance. 'Do i look fat? Should I go for a hair cut?and many other thoughts kept me occupied till the appointment was arranged. At other offices the interior and the decor left me gazing. I strted thinking about the material and often the expense and was it worth?:D
Hence no time was wasted.
It also reminds me of the 4 month long vacation before joining the college. Yes i was waiting for the college to begin but never was the day when i had irritably asked 'when will it start?' I had engaged myself in dance classes, nata class, outings and hindi cinema. (pure relaxation)
What was Roshni doing? This kid was unknowingly perceiving the act of delay in a way that contributed to her happiness . The radiant smile while joyfully jumping in the puddles clearly expressed her love for rains. She was spending time with herself exploring the things she loves to do, building some conclusions which might not be of any help today but will make sense tomorrow. The girl wasn't preparing any speech to be delivered to her mom in some complaining tone rather she was utilizing the frame of time from her life span by getting close to herself. When you are alone waiting for something better start making something. 'something for yourself'. In all the hustle bustle around spending time with self is getting neglected. It will be wise enough to utilize this indefinite period in knowing oneself, untying the knots of our own thoughts, doing whatever pleases and thus feeling enlightened.
